Organisation

Mission:

The mission of the society is promoting contacts, primarily (but not exclusively) in The Netherlands and the Flanders area, between individuals and organisations, interested in the life and work of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll.

The LCG aims at providing a platform for everyone concerned with Lewis Carroll by distributing publications (whether print or on-line), exchanging information with sister-societies in the United Kingdom and the USA, organising exhibitions and presentations, publishing a newsletter, maintaining a website and convening a festive annual event. Since we aim to extend the activities outside the Dutch speaking region, publications and other forms of communication will not only be in Dutch but also in English.

Board and activities:

The Lewis Carroll Genootschap has the legal structure of a foundation (according to Dutch law). It was formally established on 9 December 2016.

The Board consists of:

– Bas Savenije, chairman

– Henri Ruizenaar

– Wilma Vlug

The society’s activities will include

  • a website,
  • an annual conference,
  • a newsletter, at least twice a year,
  • a journal with contributions about Lewis Carroll and his works.

Interested parties can join the foundation as a Friend.

An advisory board of specialists in the field will advise the board on its activities.
